While I was at Jacob’s Pillow I had the pleasure of working with Mike van Sleen. Mike started to work at the Pillow in 1997 as a Audio Supervisor. In 2001, after being amazed over and over by all the people that passed the Pillow and seeing all the incredible records of dancers and artist, he decided to register this moments on his own way, continuing the tradition of capturing people and the artist inside them. This is beautiful — I love what he did with the lighting, around your legs, and the shadows they create. I never notice things like that, but do with his photos. He posted on the Message Board too, and I checked out his website. He has lots of great pictures of Jacob’s Pillow and he gives interesting comments about the choreographers and dancers he photographs and how they arrived at the pose, etc. Definitely check it out!
