Our first stop for performances was the 3rd largest city in Russia, located all the way in Siberia. Novosibirsk is a BEAUTIFUL city where Igor Zelensky, Kirov star and former guest artist of NYCB is the director of the company. Also home to the largest stage in Russia. Bigger than the Bolshoi, the stage in the Opera House is over 30 meters deep and actually seats only a mere 1800 spectators (the Met seats 3,800). There is nothing like the feeling of being on a huge stage, no scenery to clutter it and being able to roam around take up the space.

I’m from Novosibirsk & I was on this concert. It was GREAT! I’d like David in For Four most of all and of course Dance of Blessed Spirit.
It’s a pleasure to hear from David that our city & theatre is beautuful! It’s true))
Come to us again, we will be very glad!
P.S. Please, sorry my bad English:0)

I am the author of Frederick Ashton and his Ballets and his unofficial archivist. I try to keep the chronology of performances of his works up to date on my website. Please send me the place and date of your first perfomance of this dance; also am I correct in assuming that you would have learned it from Anthony Dowell?
