ad hoc Ballet is back in the studio after having the summer and fall off. We kicked off our 2009 season with a trip to SILO Artist Residency in Pennsylvania. It was snowy, cold, and quiet and our experience there was part hard work in the studio and part spa. To be away from the city to focus on new choreography, get back into a groove with each other just hanging out and cooking good food, and take in the natural beauty is such a gift!

The view of Kirkland Farm out of my bedroom window.

The studio sits on the second floor of this still working barn.

Tammi in the neck sling. We have the same shoulder issues and she turned me on to this wonderful way to give your neck traction and relax your shoulders, adding to the spa-like feeling of the trip.
So much serenity to be had, definitely not enough time. And of course, I came back to LOLAstretch rush orders and costuming two shows that open this week (The Wendigo and New Chamber Ballet) and am in desperate need of some neck sling time. But that is another blog.
Thank you SILO and oh, to be dancing again is marvelous! I will post some short video clips of our work as it evolves…I am so excited!

Is this the same place that Syren visited and posted about a few months ago ? If so, it’s beautiful in all seasons.

Saw New Chamber Ballet last night…the costumes, esp for VIDUITY, are wonderful.
