Hey Wingers!!
I’m sorry I haven’t been able to post in such a long time. With a tv show, there are a lot of things we’re not allowed to do, and any sort of interactions on the internet are one of them! But now that I’m off the show, I can somewhat resume to a normal daily life.
Just thought I would update you all on what has happened since I last posted! SO - I auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance again (season 7) and after a long and grueling process, I made it to the top 10! (Top 11 this year). I had such an amazing journey on the show and I learned SO much and I am so grateful for everything. I spent 5 weeks on the show, and during that 5 weeks I had the most life changing experience. I know it sounds crazy that something can really drastically change your life in 5 weeks, but this definitely does! With the crazy schedule, how much we learn and the amazing people that you get to work with AND live with, it just completely betters you as a person.
I’ll update everyone later on my specific experience through the whole process but I just wanted to check in first and let everyone know how I am doing. On my 5th week, I suffered an injury the night before show day during a rehearsal of my Bollywood piece on stage. I completely snapped my right Achilles tendon in half, and that has forced me to withdraw from the competition.

I’m just waiting here in LA for my surgery tomorrow morning (Tuesday, July 13th) and hoping that it all goes well so I can start my long journey to recovery!
I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey and that I am so grateful for even being here in the first place.
If you’d like to follow me closely I will be keeping my facebook page and my twitter page constantly updated. You can follow me on twitter here:

And here is the Tabitha & Napoleon Hip Hop piece that I danced with Twitch! :
Enjoy!

Alex I just wanted to let you know that this middle-aged mother of two got so much pleasure out of watching you on the show. You are riveting to watch and seem like such a genuine person. Your hip hop routine with Twitch is on continuous loop at my house - my kids love to watch it! I was so heartbroken to see you leave the show and I hope they just put you in the top ten next year. Good luck with your recovery and keep all of us fans updated. You are amazing!

I like how the broadway performance (Fosse) has been missing from everybody’s mind. L O L! I blame Tyce for this. I kid, I kid (or not). Anywho, I feel like I’m becoming such a groupie, though. I am following you on FB, Twitter and now here. You lucky I love reading blogs. I have one of my own but I’ll keep that to myself until I’m ready. Oh and let me not forget that I’ve seen ALL of your YouTube videos.
I’m wishing you a safe surgery, and since you’re gonna pull through, a speedy recovery. You are a fantastic dancer! Above all, you have a great personality. There is a reason that so many viewers are still rooting for your career. Take care! :o)

Despite the judges’ comment, you danced the jazz gorgeously as well.

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your talents with us and best wishes for a speedy recovery. I’ve watched SYTYCD since its inception and was starting to tire of it until you came along. I think who you are combined with both your natural and acquired talent create a force that is hard not to like. I have no doubts that you will recover and go on to even bigger and better things, I just hope they happen in a venue I have access to.

Alex,
My husband and I never watch reality shows; just comedic sitcoms like Chuck and the Office. SYTYCD, however, is a show that we both are hooked on. The level of skill and dedication is awe inspiring.
As for you… I wanted to see you dance since season 6 and we are/were both convinced that you should be the one to win this season. You are such a beautiful dancer. Your dance with Twitch last week had us up off the couch, and me with my hands on my cheeks much like Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone. We love you! We were both brought to tears tonight when we watched the show, as soon as we heard that you were injured. I sincerely hope that you come back next year and we will both pray for success with your surgery.
God Bless,
Chrissie

Alex,
You are an inspiration as much for your strength of character as you are for your awesome dancing. I know that you will recover from your injury and emerge as an even better dancer, because the alternative is just not an option for you. You have touched so many people in such a short period of time. It is such a testament to your internal strength and your will to succeed. I believe that you have a rare and inate ability to face any adversity and transform it into an advantage. It is evident in every movement you make and your movements have galvinized a country in celebration of you. You possess a courage that few people share, as there are not many who would risk what they have just for the opportunity to attain something better. It is a courage that will propel you through your recovery at light speed. I am so grateful that you took the chance to share your talent with the world. You have reminded me of the incredible strength of the human spirit. You have only begun your journey and no matter where it takes you, I have no doubt it will take you to greatness. Godspeed, Alex and recover soon so you can embrace us once again with your extraordinary gifts.

Alex! I’m been watching and waiting for you since S5. I’m so happy that you got to show how amazing you are. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched videos of your dancing. I was devastated when you were eliminated from the show but your positivity and upbeat personality really shed rays of sunlight. I hope you have a speedy recovery. I can’t wait to see you dancing again =].

Haha, it’s funny how Tasty Oreo’s routine seemed to have disappeared into oblivion. IMO you smashed it, given the circumstances you had to work with.

Keep us posted =] I will follow on all available resources.

Good luck with your surgery and let the healing begin very, very soon. You were the highlight of this season’s SYTYCD and I looked forward to each Wednesday night to see you perform and what amazing magic you would bring to the stage. I don’t know where you are in the surgery process at the moment, but just know that there will be many people praying for you today. Though recovery is a long and painful process, I want you to know that everyone who has ever seen you dance will say that it will all be worth it if we can you on stage again. I have never seen someone who so beautifully captures the expressions of the human condition. Yours is truly a gift. Best of luck and love to you in your healing.

Hey Alex,
Good luck with everything and the hip surgery. I love that you are so versatile as a dancer.. ballet, then turn around and do hip-hop the next time. That’s so awesome and that’s something I want to strive for in my dance career: dance a whole lot of different styles.
Take care!

Sending healing thoughts your way. My husband and I both think your Sonia Tayeh dance with Alison was a real work of art - like nothing we’ve ever experienced before. We can’t wait until next season when you’re back on the show, and we look forward to following your career wherever it takes you.
I went through ankle rehab a few years ago after breaking both ankle bones. It’s work, but as a dancer you’re used to working much harder than I ever have. I know you’ll come through it stronger than ever. Stay strong! The world needs you and your art -

Alex,
Your dancing is poetry and your soul shines through your movements. My heart hurts for you too…watching your elimination made me cry and feel so angry for you. Had you been able to stay on the show, I think you would have won. My dream is to watch you on next year’s SYTYCD…and rejoice with you on the night that you WIN!
You are a beautiful person who has touched many hearts and is most certainly loved. Keep the faith–the love and positivity you send out will always come back to you!

The surgery’s completed by now, and totally successfully, I hope and pray. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your stint on SYTYCD, and especially the routine with Twitch - that made my week! I was crushed when Nigel announced that you could not continue (not remotely as crushed as you were, of course), but I’m also incredibly grateful to have seen you perform. The only good things about the end of Thursday’s show were that no one else had to go home - and that Nigel said you already have an invitation for next season. Can’t wait.
Take care of yourself!

I pray that your surgery went well today and that you have a full and speedy recovery. Being the professional you are, I know it’s going to be hard to slow down to allow healing - listen to your body.
I’ve watched SYTYCD since season One and have never been so inspired by a dancer, nor so devastated by an injury. You have been gifted with amazing talent, and your graciousness was a joy to able to witness.
You are truly a special man and I wish you nothing but wonderful things in your future. Selfishly, I’m hoping you’ll be able to squeeze SYTYCD into your schedule next year!!

Your Fan
Alex!!! This could get long, so bare with me!
First off, I just want to repeat what everyone is telling you here - you are incredible, not only as a dancer, but a person as well.
I watched your exit of SYTYCD with tears running down my face because it broke my heart to see yours breaking.
I’m very glad to know that your surgery went well and I have no doubt your recovery will go just as well.
A few months back, I went through some life altering changes in my life, and I truly empathize with your pain. The pain and heartache will dull with time, this I promise you. I know you’ll miss the other contestants and you might even be thinking right now how even when/if you come back, it won’t be the same without them - again, I empathize, I’ve been through something very similar. There will be anger, frustration, tears, etc…but this too shall pass. Just imagine the depth of your growth after all this. I can only imagine how many times you have asked “why?” and unfortunately, we’re not promised that answer on this side of our lives. I know there’s higher purpose for you and remember that He promises to never leave or forsake you.
I would love to share with you my story if it would ease your pain in anyway, so let me know if you do.
I can’t wait to see the grand plan He has for you.
Remember: There is never a majestic mountain without a deep valley, and there is no birth without pain - Daniel Crawford.

From Buenos Aires, I want to join the legion of people wishing you to get well soon. Your last tweet sounded like a bird in despair after realizing it was caught in what seems to be a tiny cage. It seems but it isn’t. Allow yourself to think of that cast not as a prison but as a cocoon that surely will open in time to reveal the treasure now guarded. Soon, it will, and you’ll continue to dazzle us with your amazing talent, with an art seasoned -not diminished- by this unfortunate experience.
All the best. Alejandro.

Alex,
I really appreciate that you tried out for and decided to compete on SYTYCD. I know that it was risk for such an amazing dancer who had a career.
Growing up I never got to see any dance except on PBS, but that little bit made me love it. We didn’t have the money for me to take any classes. So I’ve had to just enjoy watching it where I could and have been thankful for shows like this and youtube.
From the second you auditioned you were (and are) the most amazing dancer I’ve seen and made me really want to see a ballet.
You helped show me something I hadn’t seen before (as the show has done with other dance styles) and it has been a joy to experience.
I will be praying for your recovery to be quick and easy and that we’ll see you dancing again soon.

Hi Alex,
i heard the surgery went well.
Wishing you much speedy recovery.
Here’s what i felt when I heard what happenned to your AT..
http://lissabombie.blogspot.com/2010/07/why.html
You’ve been my one and only reason to pester my housemate to find the latest episode of sytycd.
My jaw and my heart dropped when I saw ur dance with Allison
It’s totally a new high level of dance standard I could have never even imagine it exist
Even though judges were not impressed by the jazz, I was still amazed by your footwork that’s always perfect
And though the journey has to end in such painful way, I am glad that it ended with the climax of your Twilex hip hop… Something that …..If i had not seen that routine myself.. was so scarred that you will not pull through
but as we all know now: you NAILED it!!!!
My heart hurt and cries with you…it’s painfull…
But I hope this much love that’s been showering in your life could work as pain killer

Hey, Alex! Hope you read this comment.
Let me just be the millionth person to tell you that your hip hop with Twitch was absolutely amazing! I’ve watched it over and over again, and it still blows my mind. How did you do that?!
My heart was breaking for you when they announced your injury and the following elimination. (We’re two weeks behind on the show here in Norway, so I just watched those episodes this past Friday and Saturday.) But I was really impressed by the way you handled the whole situation; with a smile and a grateful attitude.
You are an extremely gifted dancer, who also came across as a very genuine, funny, hard working and down-to-earth guy; a total sweetheart! I know you’re gonna bounce back from this, and have a really bright future.
Wish you all the best in your recovery. If you ever wanna swing by Norway, I’ll be happy to show you around.
I have a Canadian friend who’s convinced that I’m a closeted Canadian. I think she’s right, haha.

Hey Alex,
I’ve been a big french fan of SYTYCD for years now, and I have to say, you are my favorite dancer on this show since the beginning of it. I think I’ve never been so excited to see someone perform that I was each time you danced on the show. You are THE dancer, for me, and seem to be a wonderful person as well. As a former dancer, I was heartbroken by your injury, as I know how it feels when your body turns on you at the worst possible time.
Wishing you the speediest and completest (I know that’s not a word) recovery, you are in my prayers and my thoughts. You’ll always have a home in Paris if you ever need one.

Dear Alex:
Once is a great while, a cultural phenom occurs- and it’s you. This Summer, you completely took over SYTYCD - your personality, your looks, your skills….all combined to make the show - for me and so many others - a compelling “must watch” show - but you’ll bounce back. You’ll heal, you’ll move forward, and you’ll make a difference. I believe in you. And thank you for giving me a reason to - for the first time in years - truly enjoy seeing beautiful dance. I wish you well, and please keep in touch with us.

Alex:
My daughter Melanie got me hooked on SYTYCD last year, and I loved Season 6 so much that I didn’t think that I would enjoy the next season as much. I was completely proved wrong the second that I watched you dance. Alex….your energy, your passion, your spirit, your incredible talent captivated me beyond words. Driven to tears by your performance with Alison, I didn’t think you could top that until I saw the infamous hip hop with Twitch. I have your performances on my Ipod and watch them whenever I can. We have every SYTYCD DVR saved and, although I was extremely attached to Kent, Lauren, and Billy(and Pasha’s abs)….every week after your injury I would whimper that I missed Alex. I cannot WAIT to see you next season. Alex, you’re so inspiring and engaging and just plain awesome! Can I dance? Yes, in my chair and when no one is there to critique me. Can you dance? Sigh. Alex….what you do on that stage transcends dancing. It’s art. It’s beauty. It’s an indescribable experience to watch what you create. Thank you, for so many reasons, and in so many ways.
Jeez, Trace…fawn much? Yup. Today I shall fawn. Thank you again.

My wife and I love the show, but I have to say you were hands down the best dancer they’ve ever seen. That hip hop number with Twitch was sick! Continued success, Alex!

Hi Alex..
I am a big fan. Here in India, SYTYCD 7 just started airing last month. I couldn’t help but cry watching you leave the show(let me tell you, there’s not much that makes me cry). I really really hope I’ll see you again on tv. Please come back on season 8….
PS: Your hip-hop routine with Twitch was OUT OF THE WORLD!! LOVE YOU!!!

Just to let you know that I, and I suspect many others who were inspired by your performances, are still thinking of you. I hope you recover soon.
