Summer Update

This summer my little sister, Isabel, was at Chautauqua in Workshop 1. This is her second summer there and I have also been to Chautauqua for two summers. We both love it there! The teachers are wonderful and the grounds are beautiful.

My summer at SAB was cut short two weeks ago. I dislocated my knee cap during class and had to go home to recover. I am starting physical therapy today and should be dancing again soon.

Injuries are so hard to bear for a motivated dancer. Use this break in your training to learn other things which will serve you well when you are back and moving forward with your dancing. Take care, heal well and come back to dance strong and clear.

Having to leave SAB two weeks early must have been devastating. I am sorry for you.

Well, these are the trials that can make a dancer come back stronger and better.

I have read so many athlete biographies where the athlete was injured and the doctor said, “You will never compete again” and the athlete came back won so many medals. It just takes time, patience and smart healing.
