The client I am working with has achillies tendonitis. PT has been doing a type of sports massage on the tendon. Client came to me complaining that not much is helping. I administered deep tissue massage to his gastroc and soleus. He felt relief - but note- this client has extremely overdeveloped calf muscles. So I advised not working the calf muscles in the gym but to strengthen the ankle and tibia - Im figuring this will stretch the achilles while strengthening the antagonist muscles.
