Jeremy McQueen, currently a featured dancer in the 1st national tour of the Broadway smash-hit, Wicked, is a graduate of The Ailey School/Fordham University, B.F.A in Dance program. He began his training at the California Ballet School and the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, where he is the recipient of the Fred Astaire Award for Dancer of the Year (2004). McQueen has also trained as a scholarship recipient with the San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet. He has performed works by Alvin Ailey, Nicolo Fonte, Alonzo King, Jose Limon, Christopher Huggins and Troy Powell, among others.

McQueen has performed professionally for the California Ballet Company, The Chase Brock Experience, Dominic Walsh Dance Theater and made his Carnegie Hall debut performing with the Aeros Quintet. He has also appeared in the 1st national tour of The Color Purple (Presented by Oprah Winfrey), Susan Stroman’s Tony Award-winning musical, Contact, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, as well as Disney’s High School Musical.

Also an accomplished musician and choreographer, McQueen is the recipient of numerous awards for his dancing, musical and theatrical abilities including the Jason Robins Dance Award presented by the California Council for the Arts. In April 2008, McQueen choreographed and produced “\’EVOLVING: Beyond the Essence,\’ An Evening of Works by Jeremy McQueen\” at The Ailey School. Following graduation from Ailey/Fordham, McQueen\’s choreographic work has been presented by the American Dance Guild, featured in “Choreographer’s Canvas”, presented by The Group Theatre Too and recently in the international, LaMama Moves Festival 2009 and Eidolon Ballet’s IndepenDance concert at City Center Studios in New York City.

McQueen gives back to the arts community during his free time by teaching various master classes to aspiring young professionals around the country and also serves as a intern with the organization Dancers Responding to AIDS (a division of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS).
