Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, New York City Ballet member SOPHIE FLACK began her dance training at age 7 at the Boston Ballet School. At age 12, Ms. Flack continued her dance education at Ballet Workshop of New England with Jacqueline Cronsberg. Ms. Flack spent her summers dancing at the Chautaqua Festival Dance summer program and Suzanne Farrell’s Summer Workshop at the Kennedy Center. At age 14, she was awarded a full scholarship to attend the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet.

While at SAB, Ms. Flack performed in the School’s lecture demonstrations with Suki Schorer and Jock Soto. Ms. Flack became an apprentice with New York City Ballet in October 2000 and she joined the company as a member of the corps de ballet in 2001.

Since joining New York City Ballet, Ms. Flack has originated roles in: Mauro Bigonzetti’s, “Vespro” and Susan Stroman’s, “Double Feature”.

Ms. Flack excels at the visual arts as well as performance art, and was awarded several prizes and honors in art. Samples of her work can be seen at
