11:00AM matinee
We’ve got an 11:00AM kiddie matinee this morning. Way to start out the week! I’m clearly not a morning person - this is me trying to get motivated to get myself ready. These shows are always really fun though.

nutcracker maintenance
After our day-long rehearsal marathons, and double shows on Saturday, my body feels like one giant knot. I didn’t even know what to tell the massage therapist to work on the most, it all needs help! I tried a new place this time and it was great. Soho Sanctuary is where I usually go for Pilates, but it turns out they have a huge spa facility, with giant bathrobes and a steam room. I highly recommend it.

the practice room
Andy, Boris (the pianist), and I are waiting to rehearse beauty and the beast. Not the broadway show, but a section from Jerome Robbins ballet “Mother Goose” which will be resurrected for the winter season. It’s fun to be working on something completely new (at least to me)-I think the last time the ballet went was in 1983! I love Robbins ballets and the music is by one of my favorite composers, Ravel.

Today is my first performance of the season. Everytime we come back after a long break, I feel like I’m not going to remember the hair/makeup routine. I’m always fine, but I left some extra time this morning just in case.
