We’ve got an 11:00AM kiddie matinee this morning. Way to start out the week! I’m clearly not a morning person - this is me trying to get motivated to get myself ready. These shows are always really fun though.

The kids get so excited. They laugh, clap lots (even at the end of the character dance during party scene), and at the end, instead of a steady stream of clapping, there are intermittent bursts of screaming. It’s really funny. They always clap during Mother Ginger, but THIS time they clapped during all of Marzipan! Good thing the dancers are such pros and could keep their concentration during the off-beat clapping.

The other good thing about kiddie matinees is that there are usually a lots of debuts in lead roles. This year all the news dancers did an exceptional job. It’s great to see your peers work so hard and do so well.
