a peek inside the rose building

At the NYCB space in the Rose Building at Lincoln Center, the long hallway that leads to the studios is scattered with old tour posters, mostly from the 70’s and 80’s. This one from Tivoli in Copenhagen is one of my favorites.

The REALLY old posters live in the halls of the NYCB administrative offices in the State Theater at Lincoln Center. I love walking through those. Our company has such a rich history (even though it is comparatively young in the world of dance).

By the way, if you happen to be in Denmark in November, the company will be performing at Tivoli from November 8th through 12th.

Dear Kristin,

Stumbled across your blog while surfing during a long overnight shift at the MSNBC studio. I think it’s GREAT and I applaud all the effort you’ve obviously put into it.

I’d suggested a NYCB blog - specifically a tour blog - to the Press & Promotions dept. some time ago…I’m thrilled to see that you’ve taken it upon yourself to make this one happen - and done such a terrific, professional job with it.

From your notes it seems that you’re doing well - I hope you’re happy and healthy and living a wonderful life.

Keep posting pics of yourself, please - they make the long overnight shifts go somewhat more quickly.

Best,
R

PostScript - my favorite pic on the site is the one of you in the Price Chopper in ‘Toga. Not sure why - there’s just something very real and very captivating about it.
