Just an example of a regular work day. Running from one rehearsal to the next. This schedule shows a little Cinderella, some Syliva, some Apollo, and then MORE Cinderella. Makes for a tiring work day….

ABT is known as a touring company and throughout the 60 some years of its existence, ABT has gone to all reaches of the world. We were in Japan last summer and are leaving for Orange County in a couple of days, to just name a few.
This poster shows ABT’s tour to the famed Paris Opera. I wasn’t in the company at that time but know what the Opera Garnier looks like. OLD and ELABORATE come to mind.

The building that ABT rehearses in, is also home to many other arts organizations. The Peter T. Jospeh studios is home to ABT, Eliot Feld, Barbara Matera Inc. (who does ALL of our costumes for ALL of our ballets). It is also rehearsal space for many Broadway shows and at any given moment you can run into the latest ’star’ that is working on a new show (Julia Roberts being the most recent).
This photo shows the old, wraping staircase that goes up about 9 floors, ABT owning the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. On the ground floor is a movie theatre that has popcorn wafting through the windows of the studios. Which makes it hard to work at times!

One of the contraptions built for rehearsing an Elliot Feld ballet. He uses such inventive sets and props. If you come to NYCB this Saturday night you’ll see what I mean.

On my way to the Rose Building (the middle one) for an Auvergne rehearsal, I run into a high school orchestra. It’s a beautiful day for it, only wish there was more foot traffic through the plaza.
