Someone happened to notice my post about New Dance Group’s new space on 38th Street and 8th Avenue.
As a result, I received an invitation for a tour of the space while it’s still being built.
This place will have a tremendous impact on the New York dance scene. There are two floors of space, with two areas that also serve as a performance space. It sounds like everything has been so well planned and well thought out.
How exciting to have this new dance resource in the city!
Thanks Farrah!

While waiting for my drum teacher to let me in the building, I noticed that two floors of this gorgeous huge-windowed building at 38th and 8th Avenue will be the new home of New Dance Group. I believe their previous studios were right off Times Square. It looks like a beautiful space - maybe even nicer than Steps!?

Hi Kirstin!
This is Dea, from Sao Paulo, Brasil. I heard about ur blog on a John Rockwell´s NYT´s article, and I love it! I´ve been visting it daily for a week but only now I had the opportunity to leave a comment.
I really love the way you and the contributors share the backstage and all that goes around your lives with us. It´s wonderful to see the day-to-day of the world´s top ballet companies´dancers, it´s a postive “de-glamourization” (if that´s a word hehe). I´m particularly impressed by how broad your activities are, you seem such an interesting person!
I wish you a good recovery and I hope that one day I´ll be able to see you performing live. That would be a dream! (unfortunately, in SP we hardly get to see top ballet companies perfoming, at best we get modern/contemporary…).
I´m graduating in journalism this year and I have plans of going to live in NYC…that´s also another reason why I love your pics of the city so much. ![]()
I´m a (very) late starter at ballet (at 19, I´m now 22…) and I´m obsessed with the dance world.
Thank you for this wonderful website and sorry for such a long post, I just had to say all that!
I´ll be coming back often now
