Last night I had dinner with a few lovely ladies which you may recognize… our very own Ms. Sophie Flack, and our friend My Phuong, who pops up every once in a while in my posts.
The plan had been to meet at one of our favorite restaurants, Freeman’s, (slightly hidden in the Lower East Side, down Freeman’s Alley, which is across Rivington from another Winger favorite, Loreley).
As I’m sure many of you know, even though they just completed a bit of an expansion, it can still be quite difficult to get a table. So when we were told the wait would be an hour and a half, we decided to venture on to another spot.
We ended up upstairs at Stanton Social, which was fantastic. The plates are all kind of appetizer-sized, so we ordered a few different things, one of which was their famed french onion soup dumplings. (Very onion-y. Good thing it was a girls night.)
Afterwards, we went to my place (actually my and doug’s place, but he’s in SF) for some smores and movies (flames courtesy of the awesome blow torch Doug got me for Christmas).
My Phuong lets out her engineering side (she IS an architect after all), inspecting the torch and it’s functionality to ensure maximum flame output.

Then she discovers how it’s really done.
After our night of fun, I headed out in the snow/sleet/hail this morning for physical therapy… and guess what, it was the best one yet! I can do a turned out tendu with no pain, and my passé is starting to look like a passé again!
I also got an extra fun boost of motivation yesterday. I had the first of what will hopefully be many rehearsals for the upcoming Spring Season. It was for Dances at a Gathering, and although I cannot dance in rehearsals yet, getting to watch Susan Hendl and Christine Redpath work their magic, hear what they have to say, and to watch the incredibly talented ladies dancing in the rehearsal, is often as beneficial as physically rehearsing the ballet yourself. Plus, I got to sit at the front of the studio by Chrissy’s adorable golden retriever, Emma.
