I’d really recommend Graham - I am sure you could find some basic classes in New York. It’s different from ballet but if you’ve got a good ballet background it’s not too difficult to learn (although this might be a bit of a controversial statement!)

Oh, another reason to be sad not to be in London - Morphoses is at Sadlers Wells this week, I think… Liv Lorent has written something new for the Scottish Dance Theatre so hopefully I will see them sometime before the year is out.

Your classes sound fascinating. I just saw Graham (performed) for the first time. It was really engaging, very specific to a certain time period yet at the same time contained very complex emotions and spoke to the human condition in a way that is timeless. I’d love to take some classes in her technique, if they’re not too far above me Your contact improv classes sound interesting as well. Doug from Great Dance blog took something like that and loved it. I didn’t know there were lifts involved though! I have a weak wrist so don’t know if I’d be able to do much lifting…
