Just thought I would “re post” something I first posted for my trip to Japan in September. In honor of all of our favorite t shirt store! Welcome to NYC!

One of the things I was most looking forward to on arrival to Tokyo, was visiting and buying out the complete “Graniph Design” store here in Japan. This store commissions designers to create a line of t shirts to sell in their store. Granted, there is such a wide array of styles of t’s there, its a feast for the eyes (and the wallet). I discovered this store on my last trip here and fell maddly in love for it. It is the type of innovative Japanese design that attracts me to Tokyo and the people here. When I returned to NYC, I got so many compliments on the t shirts I bought at Graniph, and wore them throughout the whole year.

Well, upon my return, one of my first stops was to Graniph… As I am browsing through the t’s, loving them all, I come across a name that I am VERY familiar with… none other than Kristin’s boyfriend extrodinaire… Doug Jaeger. I was so excited to see his name there, and in a store I love so much, commissioning artists with complete individuality. And, here I thought I was so alone in Tokyo… but ‘family’ is right where you left it!

Bravo Doug!

This is so sweet; what a serendipitous discovery!

My friend, Yukari, whom I told to make sure and get tickets to see you dance, tells me she can’t, you’ve completely sold out the place!!! (I posted her cute email on the message board). Congratulations! You’re gonna get mobbed :)

Wow that store looks incredible…I’m a total sucker for interesting graphic t-shirts and it can be really hard to find ones of the non-Urban Outfitters variety, even in NYC, where you know that every psuedo-hipster college kid is going to be walking around in that same t-shirt within about a week. But this actually brings me to a question I’ve been meaning to ask Kristin, who will hopefully read this, or anyone here who knows for that matter:

I somehow stumbled onto Doug’s t-shirt website dooker.com, and really loved some of the shirts I saw there, cause who can resist a clever political t-shirt that’s actually inventive and stylish? But I’m one of those people who won’t buy ANY article of clothing without seeing how it fits first, so are there any stores in NYC that sell them? Even if it’s just a couple of styles so I can see how they’re sized before ordering the one(s) I want.

Thanks,
Tania

hey tania,

the shirts that are on dooker.com are printed on american apparel men’s t-shirts.
so you can go into any american apparel store, and try on one of their men’s tee’s for size :)

Thanks so much Kristin! There’s an American Apparel right near me so that makes it really easy, and they make really good-quality stuff. I’ll be sure to get on that.

Hehe, how embarrassing that my comment is top here too — I must be ABT obsessed or something… :) Seriously, we miss you, DAvid!!! :) I realize you are preparing to dance every principal male role in every single ballet every night for the next eight weeks, but just one pic once in a while — don’t worry about a big long commentary, we’ll supply the interpretation; it’ll be very audience-interactive :)

Just kidding :) See you soon! I’m so excited for next week!!!!!
