Rainy Rehearsal

After a two month hiatus, the NYCB officially returned to work last week and has begun rehearsals for the upcoming season. This is always an exciting time of year for the dancers because we spend our days rehearsing new ballets that will be premiering in the winter, as well as rehearse the ballets that are returning to our repertory after long absences.

So what’s with all of the umbrellas? This was taken during a rehearsal for The Concert, a hysterical ballet that’s one part dance and two parts witty social commentary. When I took this, the dancers were placing the famous “Rain” section of the ballet, hence all of the umbrellas. Good thing none of us are superstitious!

HOORAY!!! NYCB is back in rehearsals!

Love the photo and “The Concert”. I can’t wait for all the Robbins ballets in 2008.

Keep the pictures coming, they’re great!

If it’s umbrellas, it must be THE CONCERT…

So nice to see you here again, Gwyneth!

Love the photo Gwyneth! I assume you were using your 30D. Thanks so much for the advice, I ended up purchasing it!
