Backstage With the Boys

I had the pleasure of spending some time with Marcelo and David in the dressing room the other night before “Don Q.” It was one of the first times that I’ve taken my new camera into the maze of the Met, and I was delighted to capture a few photos of the boys getting ready for the performance. None delight me quite as much as this one. It’s rare that I catch such a candid moment, as I feel intrusive when I point my lens at people, but as Marcelo congratulated David on his debut, I couldn’t resist sneaking out my camera and snapping a shot!

In other news, check out my Live Blog recaps of the new “So You Think You Can Dance” season! Will be posting during the show every Wednesday on Ranting Details! Check out last night’s here!

Matt - Stunning photo!! Thank you so much for sharing this. How I wish I could have been at the performance. I understand from my son that it was fabulous. David, it sounds like the audience did join you for the ride! Well deserved congratulations to you, Michelle, Marcelo & everyone else in Friday’s show!

Beautiful and two of the great dancers of our time. Both of them do incredible work.

Thanks Matt for the warm backstage moment.

The beauty of it is giving people on the “outside” a nice view into the intimate, wonderful world that really does exist backstage. Moments like that are “precious and few’, like the old song. Beautiful, sensitive photo.
Matthew, YOU are an artist. Bravo.
