Noe,

This photo of you as a 10 year old and Ballet New England is exactly how I remember you! I think this is when we first met. I even recognize exacty where you are: the 2nd floor studio at the Connie Bean Center in Portsmouth. I think Nana may have been our teacher then. I love it! What a cutie. :)

Wow, what a small world! I grew up in Carlisle. You probably knew the Staffords; they are my parent's neighbors. CPYB / M.D.W. has really produced lots of amazing dancers!

I love reading everything on this blog, because even though I've never learned to dance, ballet has always fascinated me. I think it's so beautiful! Best wishes to you in your career. Maybe some day I will take a lesson. :o)

Hi Deb,

I'm have always been a visual learner, but assumed that most dancers are that too. Speaking of my epaulement, I remember the photographer being uncomfortably close to me and felt the need to move. As soon as I moved he snapped! It really was a lucky shot. Thanks for your comment Deb!

I am struck by your hand in the first picture. I told someone just the other day that once in a while I have a young child who enrolls in my school and somehow knows (almost intuitively) what to do with her hands. I get plenty of what I call "mitten" fingers--all five fingers stuck together as if with super glue, and I also get "the claw"--all five fingers spread apart in an almost menacing way. And of course I give corrections liberally. But occasionally I have a young child who can mime me almost exactly, or who has studied pictures and videos, and has internalized enough to know what to do. Were you one of those kids? Those are nice fingers for a ten-year-old, and the epaulement is not too bad, either! Thanks for the post!
