Hello There,
I tried , I tried , I tried to not post about this but I have to. Sloan and the State of Arizona have inspired me.
Dont have a favorite anything but Damien Hirst for sure is my all time favorite artists. Hirst is best known for his obsession with dead animals, pills, dot paintings, and dark humor. He is the highest grossing artists today with his works easily fetching over a couple million.
Right now in London he has made the move to auction off his work without the support of a gallery and cutting out the the middle man. Critics are up in arms because they think that he might he might be the final nail in the coffin and inspire other artists to do the same. Whisper in the wind within the art community is that famed Japanese artists Takashi Murakami will be doing the same.
The Auction kicked off yesterday and ends today at Sotheby’s salesroom in London. Beautiful Inside My Head Forever is the name of the auction. Anyone who is across the pond should try and scope it out because it is a media circus. Already the projected numbers for sales have been smashed.
My friend Mr. Jonathan Watkins from the “Shire” currently in London would say “Thats off the Shizzle Bri!”
