I apologize for keeping you in suspense… or not.

Photo by Mark Miller from last week’s LVHRD ARCHDL IV where we were supposed to dress as lumberjacks or wildlife creatures….

Shorter in the back than it is in the front. Looks pretty Katie Holmes-esque here, but I’m trying hard to style it a little differently. Who knows, maybe the blonde chunks will make an appearance again, although I tend to think not.

The Hair cutting cliche

What is it about dancers retiring and then cutting their hair off?

I don’t know, but I felt that it was time for a bit of a change - beyond whatever odd color combinations I could come up with - so I ended up following that common pattern, and cut it all (most of it at least) off.

I think my stylist was more traumatized than I was. I thought it would feel weird or drastic, but for the most part I don’t notice it unless it’s when I’m washing my hair.
No threat of buns or french twists in the near future!

A visit and an update

During another visit to the theater this week I snapped a shot of the corps ladies’ head piece table. It’s especially sparkly this time of year with Jewels in the rep. The costume ladies mark off our individual headpiece spots with gaffer’s tape(useful for everything)…

Also picked up another copy of the schedule for Saratoga this year. Unfortunately I will not be up to full dancing ability by then, but I WILL be heading up for the first week and a half to be a ballroom lady in Romeo + Juliet again.

If you missed your chance to see R+J in NYC, I highly recommend taking the trip upstate to see it in Saratoga Springs. We perform in an outdoor ampitheater (also known as the Saratoga Performing Arts Center), which means if theater seats aren’t your kind of thing, you can get a lawn seat and bring a picnic.

As disappointed as I am that I won’t be dancing as much as I’d like, I’m still looking forward to going up there, taking company class (at least part of it) and getting to watch the shows from the audience. It’s a good place for motorcycle riding too ;) .

My multicolor bun…

I’m still rockin some blonde streaks and it makes for an interesting ‘do which actually compliments the color streaks in the costumes quite well. Too bad it will get covered up by the veil.
