Dark knight sold out all weekend. What was the last movie you couldn’t see no matter how badly you wanted to?
Between this, the lines for the iPhone 3G, and the fact that it’s almost impossible to get a Wii Fit… argh!
The Rolling Stones… Eight storeys high (at Sony Lincoln Square/IMAX). The opening documentary style stuff was smaller, then when the actual show (shot at the Beacon Theater) begins, Scorsese blasts you with the full IMAX screen. It’s pretty amazing, although two hours becomes a bit long to feel like you’re at a live Rolling Stones show, but to just be sitting quietly in a movie theater. I’d definitely recommend checking it out though.
It’s interesting to see what a film director does with a live performance… and no definitive set list.
Tonight is cedar lake dance company’s blogger preview of their installation Glassy Essence (I’m sure there are plenty of other invited guests too!). They’ve got music and video pumping out the front door and the sun is setting over the Hudson…
Talked to one of the dancers the other night and it sounds like the unpredictability of this type of performance is both a bit nerve racking and exciting for them - I bet!
They’re testing out some new technology for after the show as well. Looking forward to it!
