Well I have been busy as usual….This weekend we had the honor of having Finis Jhung with us. He gave a 2 day 8 hour workshop for my students. It was a very special weekend! Finis is an unorthodox teacher as many of you may know. He has a unique way of getting his point across. The first day it took a bit for the kids to open up to it, but by the second day it was like everything he said started to sink in. Some of the students were even executing steps that they had trouble with before. It was an amazing experience that i am sure they will remember for a long long time.

Yay! Thanks to a couple of “gaurdian angels” I have finally been able to get a marley for the studio!

This comes at a great time since it is a only a couple of weeks until our show. My husband Mark and I built the floor ourselves when I opened the studio. We did a pretty nice job! It is sprung on cross-link foam and very easy on your legs. Every few weeks I would have to add 2 coats of polyurethane to keep it from getting too slippery. Kind of a pain! Anyway, something happened to it that we began to call “the virus”. It was like someone rolled on the floor with body oil or something-it would get on your shoes and appear in different places in the studio. It was alive and spreading everywhere! I had to re-coat the floor, but since we have been in the studio so much, it didn’t have time to dry by the next rehearsal-so we danced on it anyway-completely tearing it up. AND the virus was still there! The idea of staying on a Saturday (after being there for 8 hours) to sand it down and re-coat it was killing me! I can’t believe I was able to get the marley and so appreciative of the help I got to do it. A special thank you to my “angels”.
