Every February the New York City Ballet holds their Annual Luncheon, which usually involves a discussion/performance excerpt in the theater, followed by a gala-esque lunch on the promenade and a passing of the Janice Levin Dancer honor to the next years recipient.
Today’s program was called “Ballet is Man - too” featuring an esteemed panel of male dancers in a discussion moderated by Peter Martins, and excerpts from some of the great male roles in our repertory (Prodigal, Apollo…). I so wanted to check it out - we had the monitor on (sound from the stage) in the office for a bit, but it was really interesting so it made it too hard to focus on what we were working on!

Chopard was the sponsor for the event, and they had mannequins at either end of the promenade dressed in tutus and Chopard jewels. These lovely ladies were of course being watched over by their very own security team.
What if next time Chopard just goes all out and makes a real diamond tutu - like the diamond victoria’ secret bra?
