<p>Born in Boston, Massachusetts, LAUREN STEWART began ballet classes at the age of six.   She trained locally at Southern NH Dance Theater under the direction of Patricia Lavoie, and at Ballet Academy East in New York City.  She also spent summers at the School of American Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Boston Ballet.  In 2003, Lauren was selected to perform with American Ballet Theater in their production of Macmillan’s Romeo and Juliet at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and she also performed with Cincinnati Ballet during their 2003-2004 season.<br/ ></p>

<p><br/ >In August 2004, Lauren joined the Joffrey Ballet as an Arpino Apprentice and was promoted to the main company in July 2006.  Since joining, Lauren’s repertoire has included Petrouchka, Joffrey’s The Nutcracker, Nijinsky’s Le Sacre du Printemps, Balanchine’s Apollo, Ashton’s The Dream, Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet, Dean’s Sometimes it Snows in April, Arpino’s Light Rain, Ashton’s Cinderella, Joos’ The Green Table, and Massine’s Les Pressages.  Lauren  also teaches for Southern NH Dance Theater and has taught for Central Pennsylvania’s Youth Ballet summer program. </p>
