Taylor is a dancer and writer in New York City.

A Massachusetts native, she trained at The Boston Ballet School before moving away from home at age 14 to attend The Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet on scholarship. She performed as a student with both schools’ affiliated companies, in productions including Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, and Midsummer
Night’s Dream.

She completed her high school studies early, and graduated from The Rock School at age 16 in May 2005. She spent summers at Miami City Ballet and Boston Ballet. Driven to pursue careers in dance and writing simultaneously, she moved to New York City to dance at Ballet Academy East (BAE) and to attend Marymount Manhattan College.

In her two years at BAE she worked with a diverse range of faculty and guest teachers, including Cynthia Gregory, Nikolaj Hubbe, and Christopher D’Amboise. Her repertoire there included Balanchine’s Divertimento No. 15 and Raymonda Variations, Sleeping Beauty Act III, Bournonville’s Napoli, and others. She was also a teaching assistant
and summer counselor.

While continuing to train full time, she accelerated through college and graduated magna cum laude in January 2008 with her BA in Communication Arts at age 19. In addition to performing professionally with various small companies, she has interned at Pointe Magazine, Ellen Jacobs Associates (a public relations agency for dance
companies), Quick & Simple Magazine, and most recently at The New Yorker Magazine.

Her writing has appeared in Pointe Magazine, Dance Spirit, movmnt magazine, Dancer Magazine, ExploreDance.com, various websites, and in her college newspaper, The Monitor, where she was the Features Editor. Her research on dance journalism will be presented at the Dance Research Forum Ireland in June 2008.

She is pursuing a Masters Degree in Magazine Publishing at Pace University while performing in the city, writing freelance, and continuing her training with former ABT dancer Kat Wildish.
