Born on May 19, 1990 and raised in Santa Clarita, California, DYLAN WARD began ballet at the age of ten. He recieved his ballet training at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy until 2007. At Santa Clarita Ballet, Dylan was trained in the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabus and was awarded the highest ranking, Distinction, in his Advanced 2 exam. In Southern California he was able to train under Corrine Glover, Stefan Wenta, Carol Guidry, Danica Primo and Jerry Kokich.

In 2006, at age 16, Dylan Was the highest scoring male participant in the Youth America Grand Prix’s Southern California Semi Finals and went on to compete in the New York Finals. Dylan started attending the San Francisco Ballet School’s Summer Session on scholarship when he was 15, and at 17 he accepted his offer to stay for the year-round program where he was trained by Parrish Maynard, Lola De Avila, Jorge Esquivel, Jean-Yves Esquerre as well as the rest of SFBS’s prestigious faculty.

While at the San Francisco Ballet School he was able to experience sharing the stage with the amazing dancers or SFB during performances of Helgi Tomasson’s “Nutcracker” and “Giselle”. Dylan was chosen by John Neumeier to perform a principle role in the U.S. premier of “Yondering”. He performed this role as the opening piece for the San Francisco Ballet’s 75th Anniversary Gala as well as the 2008 Student Showcase.

In the summer of 2008 Dylan was offered a position in the Trainee Program with SFB and will be staying for this program over the next school year. He will performing often in the Bay Area with the other Trainee’s as representatives for SFB throughout the community as a part of this second company.
